Join poet, artist and natural historian in guided walks as part of ‘Stringing Bedes’: a Poetry and Print Pilgrimage that celebrates the landscapes and life of the Venerable Bede.

Saturday 15th August; St Paul’s to Whiteleas

Sunday 16th August, Whiteleas to St Peter’s Church.

Each ‘pilgrimage lasts from 10 am to 4 pm and is free but places are limited.

To find out more or to book a place please email gleadees-stringingbede@yahoo.co.uk

Each ‘pilgrimage’ will take participants on a contemplative journey, giving them a chance to reflect upon their walking experiences in rhyme and prose, and to ponder what it is to travel through a landscape and towards oneself.

The Stringing Bedes project is co-ordinated by WALK assisted by Bede’s World, South Tyneside Council and the Sunderland Cultural Partnership.  It is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
